Meet Marissa Parmer - Founder and Creator of My Gl⚡️tch

i'm honoured that Marissa gave me permission to share her story , i've never written about anyone else's journey before , but i feel everyone needs to have a chance to be seen and heard .

Marissa's words :

My GL⚡️TCH!

My family and I are determined to spread awareness about the invisible illness that is Epilepsy. Those who struggle with this condition have their own GLITCH! they experience.

I want to bring you along on my family's journey as well as share information on epilepsy so you are better informed about this condition.

I will have "GLITCH" gear available for you to wear out and about to create Epilepsy Awareness, just by someone asking you, "What is 'GLITCH'?".

Follow along as i let you read about Marissa and her family's journey , with an occasional  Glitch :

Every person that is diagnosed with Epilepsy has their own "Glitch". Marissa wants people to understand just because some forms of Epilepsy can not be seen (it's known as an invisible disability), it does NOT make it any easier. It is extremely hard physically, emotionally and mentally. THERE IS NO CURE! There is only controlled or uncontrolled Epilepsy. This is why it is very hard on the the individual, but it's just as hard on the rest of the family/support system. It truly is a family affair.

So you can help Marissa spread Epilepsy awareness, she has created a shop full of items for her followers to use and wear to help start a conversation. As an example, while moving their oldest son into college, she was wearing one of my Glitch! sweatshirts and was stopped by two students asking, "What's Glitch?". They went on and followed her page https://www.MyGlitch.org . This is how you can also help spread awareness.

Marissa spends a lot of times filling her Blog pages with stories about other people's Epilepsy journey , whether your the person with seizures , a caregiver , a loved one or friend , Marissa is really great at giving others a voice on her platform to help spread Epilepsy Awareness .

As you follow along on Marissa's journey, she will tell you up front, some posts may not seem to make sense. And that's ok. As she is writing a post, she may start to experience a seizure, but many of Marissa's seizures she am able to 'work through'. So, Marissa wants to be as real as she can and have you witness how her mind works while she experiences that occasional glitch. Marissa makes sure that her educational posts are clear and easy to follow.
